As the sun started to crest over its peak into the late afternoon, and with the heat continuing to rise we folded up our pads, stuffed our packs and decided it’d be best to get back to Denver to get some okish sleep before work. Our plan for a fall trip was already taking shape.

One Year in Colorado

Moving to Colorado was both a hard and easy decision to make. Hard because I was leaving behind my family, 27 years of established friendships, and whole environment I was completely used to. But unbelievably easy because that's where my life was leading, essentially where my life already was, where my wife was, my friends, and where I could do what I love most; climb, hike, and make photographs. So August 31st is the day I left, and the day I arrived in Colorado.

Far, Not Fast

A 3 Day Spectacular riding bikes in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado

As it starts the Canyon doesn’t seem particularly tough or steep, that is until you get to the first fork in the road, and the ominous sign “HIGH GRADE ROAD 2 MILES AHEAD” gives you some vague warning of what you’re about to get yourself into. We hooked a left and went in search of the High Grades.
